Pack around week 36–38

Most parents finish the bag in the third trimester. Keep it by the door so you can grab it when contractions start.

Install the car seat before labor

Hospitals require a rear-facing infant seat before discharge. Practice installing it in your car — not in the parking lot.

Bring ID and insurance on day one

Admission needs your photo ID and insurance card. Put them in an easy-to-reach pouch in your labor bag.

Skip what the hospital already has

Gowns, heavy pads, diapers, and wipes are usually stocked. Use our Hospital usually provides tab so you do not overpack.

Common questions

When should I pack my hospital bag? +
Most expecting parents pack between weeks 36 and 38 of pregnancy — or earlier if you are at higher risk of early labor. Keep the bag near your front door and add last-minute items (keys, phone charger, medications) when you leave.

Does the list change for a C-section? +
Yes. Choose C-section at the top and we add high-waist underwear, front-opening tops, and optional belly support — and hide items meant only for vaginal recovery.
What should my partner pack? +
Their own clothes for 1–2 days, snacks, phone charger, toiletries, and a printed call list. Open the Partner tab for the full list — or turn it off if you are packing alone.
What does the baby need for discharge? +
A properly installed rear-facing car seat is required. Bring one or two going-home outfits in newborn and 0–3 month sizes, plus a hat and blanket for the ride home.
