• Your lists and checkmarks are saved on your own device, not uploaded to our database.

Information you provide

When you use the packing checklist, you may enter trip details such as destination, dates, trip type, activities, and items you want to bring. You may also add custom items or notes. This information is used only to generate and display your checklist.

If you email us at hi@packinglist.life , we receive whatever you choose to include in that message (typically your email address and message content) so we can respond.

Where your lists are stored

Trip settings, selected items, and packed checkmarks are saved in storage on your phone, tablet, or computer — the same kind of on-device memory your browser uses to remember preferences on other sites. We do not receive a copy of your packing lists on our servers.

If you clear your browser data or use a different device, your saved lists may no longer be available unless you have a share link or printed copy. We recommend printing or sharing important lists before switching devices.

Share links

When you copy a link to share your checklist, trip details and item selections are embedded in that link. Anyone who has the link can open and view the same list. Only share links with people you trust, the same way you would forward a personal document.

We do not publish or index your shared lists in search engines.

Weather information

If you select a destination from our list, your browser may request a public weather forecast for that area and travel dates. This helps suggest layers, rain gear, or sun protection. The request goes to a third-party weather service; we do not attach your name or account to that request because no account exists.

Analytics and cookies

We may use privacy-oriented analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are helpful — for example, aggregate visit counts and general device types. These tools are not used to read your packing list contents.

Like most websites, we may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for basic site operation. We do not use advertising cookies that track you across other websites.

Children

The site is intended for general audiences planning travel or move-in. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal information, please email hi@packinglist.life and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
