International travel packing list

  • An international packing list starts with documents, not extra outfits—passport, entry papers, and a charger you can use abroad.
  • Pack the passport in the personal item that never leaves your shoulder at the airport.
  • Pick your country in the setup panel so we can suggest the right plug adapter and weather layers.

Country already picked? Thailand · Peru · Safari · Europe · Japan · Digital nomad

Before you leave the country

Use these four checks, then tick off the full international packing list below.

  1. Passport and entry papers stay in the personal item you never check
  2. Match the power adapter to the country — US type A is not enough in Europe
  3. TSA liquids bag for the flight; full-size bottles after you land
  4. Pick Thailand, Peru, Japan, Europe, or another country below to tune weather and plugs

Tips for flying abroad

  • Photocopy or photograph the passport photo page; keep a copy separate from the real passport.
  • US outlets are type A—Europe, the UK, and much of Asia need an adapter even for USB chargers with folding prongs.
  • Medications in original bottles with prescriptions travel more easily through customs than loose pills.
